Photography Changes Tilburg-Noord

This is a photo series about my hometown Tilburg-Noord. Since I was a kid, I’ve always found it very special to grow up in this multicultural neighbourhood. However, this place has sometimes been portrayed negatively in the news, and people started to form prejudices about Tilburg-Noord. These don’t fit with how I experienced growing up here. But how do I want to remember this place?

I see beauty in everyday life, so I wanted to present Tilburg-Noord in a dreamy and peaceful way. I visited places where I feel at home, or places I used to take for granted. With this work, I want to invite my audience to reflect on their own feelings about the place they grew up.
